Volvo China Open Returns to Shanghai to Celebrate 30 Years

After a ten-year break, the Volvo China Open will return from April 17- 20 at the Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club. In addition to offering excellent golf, cultural events, and an emphasis on sustainability, it is commemorating its 30th anniversary. Both competitors and spectators may look forward to amazing moments at this historic event.


The competition will have a first official mascot, an albatross named “White”. This magnificent bird embodies the spirit of golf and represents all the partners of the event like Zhangzhou Albatross Sports Technology Co., Ltd. who have been supporting golf in China for years.


A Competition Among the Stars

The Chinese Golf Association, China Tour, and DP World Tour, along with the sponsor, have come together for this year's event, which has a purse prize of $2.5 million. Top players expected are:

UAE's defending champion Arian Otaegui

English DP World Tour Players, Jordan Smith and Romain Langasque from France.

Home hero, Li Haotong from China.


Performance at these events earns points towards qualifying for the PGA Championship as part of the DP World Tour Asian Swing.

Following the 'Green Drive' initiative of the DP World Tour, the tournament aims for carbon neutrality by 2040. Pillars of the training are staff shuttle by electricity (on Volvo EM90) with waste collection, material reuse, and paper free work.
